After completing college, I took a reliable (read: boring) 9 to 5. So I decided to make myself more marketable by teaching myself to code. 18 months after first learning I quit that job to teach web development at Skillcrush and freelance full-time.
Industries I love
What I read
I read Toni Morrison for fun. I read The Economist to keep current on world affairs and I read web design and content management blogs, such as Contently, to keep current on trends. I'm working my way through the Book A Part library.
Currently, I'm working part-time at Skillcrush as a Frontend Development TA and I'm championing the new Alumni community. My current side hustle is my workout top line BarreBodySpirits.com.
I prefer joining small/med. sized where I still know most of my team. If I am a freelancer I prefer to have one primary contact after the project launch. I enjoy setting my own schedule and mini-project goals and overcommunication.
