Jean did a great job taking our ideas and working with us to create the text for our web site. Not only was Jean responsive to our requests, we never had to chase her down for deliverables. I would use Jean again for any future project.

My company hires Jean Rath on a contract basis to edit some of the content we write for our clients, such as advertising booklets, handbooks, and presentations. Jean does great work; her edits always meet my expectations and are ready on time. She ensures that a document matches a client’s specifications of style and content, and she makes herself available for follow up edits. Jean is a good addition to any content-providing team.

To whom it may concern: I am happy to write this recommendation for Ms. Jean Rath. She edited my novel “Amity” and with her help York University Press (Inanna) accepted it for publication. Ms. Rath was patient, very knowledgeable and clearly explained the reasons for suggestions or changes in the manuscript. Her command of the editing features in MS Word was apparent, and helped make the whole process precise and manageable, resulting in a novel with a much improved flow and story-line.

What I read

I read blogs, books, and magazine articles on a variety of subjects (whatever has caught my attention at the time). I enjoy discovering what's out there in Canadian literature. Lately I've been finding out about Australian literature.

Side projects

I have contributed posts to the Ottawa-Gatineau branch of the Editors' Association of Canada:
I maintained a blog for three years, telling stories of growing up in Canada:

Ideal team

I work very well under good leadership, with a team in which everyone takes responsibility for the final product. I am good at working on my own when it comes to writing articles and copy editing, and I value all feedback. I copywrite best with a team.
