Experience

Summary

I've built on the marketing and writing foundation established at The University of Texas at Austin in several steps: In-house marketing departments, entry and senior-level roles at a marketing agency, and as a freelance Social Media Manager and Writer.

Work history

Senior Social Media Community Manager
At this Austin-based marketing agency, I developed and managed the brands of dozens of local businesses throughout the U.S., ranging from bars to interior design firms and beyond. Growth and improvement were key to supporting the hard work they do daily.
Online Operations Manager
Updating the digital marketing strategy for this Austin print shop was the focus of my task here. This included establishing their Google+ presence, facilitating their B2B marketing outreach, and enhancing their online visibility through Adwords and SEO.
Bark & Co.
Copywriter
Provided blog and promotional marketing content for early-stage subscription service, BarkBox. This included product-specific posts, as well as general pet and lifestyle content for its consumer base, now totaling over 200,000 subscribers.

Delicious Fish, Satisfying Growth.

This post for a DC seafood dive (name redacted for confidentiality) shows the impact of engaging social media content. Shared over 275 times, this attention caused the page to boom from 8k to 8.5k likes in just one week; meanwhile, strong community management facilitated 50 new visitors that week.

Tapping Into Trends

"Think raising your practice exam score by 11 points is impossible? #StrangerThings have happened." For one LSAT test prep company, tapping into the social media success of a Netflix hit connected them to the 20-somethings in their student base while winning attention from prospective students.
