You’re an all-in-one NYC based video creator who is self-motivated and versatile and looking to create highly visible content. As we continue to build our CEO’s thought leadership and the Roomi brand, you’ll be a key player, bringing together best practices and strategies to leverage and strengthen our video content.
You will shoot footage, handle all editing and accomplish the bulk of the technical tasks related to pre-production, production and post-production. You will transport, set up, and operate equipment; and assist with staging, any set preparation, etc. You will work closely with the core marketing team to execute various concepts through to completion. Ultimately, as a film and video editor, you should be able to bring sight and sound together in order to tell a cohesive story.
Specific responsibilities include:
>Determines what camera and editing equipment is necessary and provide or obtain all equipment.
>Transports, sets up, and operates various production equipment including cameras, lighting equipment, props, and microphones for location and studio production.
>Collects b-roll footage as needed as well as interviews.
>Review shooting script and material to create a shot decision list based on scenes’ value and contribution to the message to be conveyed.
>Trims footage segments and puts together the sequence of the videos.
>Input stock music, dialogues, graphics and any effects.
>Create rough and final cuts.
>Consult with Roomi stakeholders from production to post-production process.
>Support the team throughout the production process, which may include finding interview subjects and creating graphics.

>Proven work experience as a video editor.
>Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages.
>Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio.
>Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation and continuity.
>Familiarity with motion graphics, special effects and compositing.
>Creative mind and storytelling skills.
>BS degree in film studies, cinematography or a related field a plus.
