The Social Media Manager will be responsible for managing and increasing Wonderschool’s presence on Facebook and other social platforms, while also honing the voice of the brand. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years prior experience in a similar position, be fluent in social media optimization and have an innate ability to identify and adapt to trends.
The right candidate will have a passion for great content and storytelling. A knack for writing compelling copy as well as unearthing and acting on trends in data will be key. The Social Media Manager will work closely with the editorial team in an effort to help package content for maximum visibility throughout the social web. The position will be part of our growing Audience Development team, this person will not be writing long form content.
Manage all of Wonderschool’s social media accounts by, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest. Increase referrals from social platform, increase engagement in social platforms, and grow relevant audiences
Effectively translate data into understandable and actionable insights to drive strategy
Write compelling, creative copy in an effort to engage readers rather than simply throw links at them
Create a strategy and define metrics of success for new social channels while leading the discussion on social priorities
Use data to provide recommendations and guidance to the editorial team
Work closely with editorial team to develop social posting, packaging, and optimization processes and to develop regular feedback loop
Keep up to date with social trends and strategy in order to adopt, recommend changes, and elaborate on it to the rest of the team
Monitor the news cycle to make sure social channels are consistently up to date and relevant to our audience
Help strategize and brainstorm future content and social initiatives
Create daily, weekly, and monthly reports tracking and analyzing social performance
