Description

Objective: The main role of the position is to provide a soothing yet witty voice for Separate.us. It is essential that this person create a communication style and strategy that will soothe, educate, and potentially entertain people who are going through a very difficult time in their lives. If you’re a self-starter and passionate about joining a small, hungry, high-performing team---this role could be for you.

Responsibilities:
Job duties will include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following:
-Learn the ins and outs of of the complicated divorce process in California; including procedural requirements, community property law, child custody & child support and spousal support. (Materials and instruction will be provided).
-Create short written articles explaining the legal process and procedure to customers in plain language.
-Create scripts to be used for instructional videos that will be produced by other members of the team.
-Familiarize yourself with best practices for copywriting techniques and web-­facing user interactions. We have lawyers and former --Court personnel on staff who can help with this.
-Develop the “voice” of the company. Craft a tone that speaks to customers dealing with the sensitivities of the divorce process, and infuse that tone into cross-platform brand materials.

Qualifications:
Appropriate candidates should have the following:
-BA / BS degree.
-Desire to help people through difficult life circumstances.
-Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
-Demonstrate an ability to reduce complex information, regarding technical processes, into plain language.
-An ability to develop and articulate a clear vision for all communications.
-Passion for writing (journalism or blog experience a plus) and for helping people through difficult life circumstances.
