Kate has the unique ability to make everyone feel special and important - no matter their role: small or large. She is a talented leader, and also knows how to look beyond the current state of things to drive business to its next stage of growth. She empowers those who work with her to take on an attitude of joy and thoughtful reciprocity. She is not only hands-down an impressive business woman, but a thought-leader in the freelancing industry! Fantastic!
Kate is an incredible person to work with. She's invested in ensuring the team has what they need to be successful and is a master at sharing thoughtful, constructive feedback. She creates a collaborative environment, resulting in quality work everyone can be proud of. I've truly appreciated her transparency and interest in educating me on anything outside my direct role so that we're all working towards the same goal.
I have worked with Kate for years on numerous projects, and have always found her professional and dedicated to results. I highly recommend her for any team or client, for her vision, ability to execute a plan, and leadership skills.
Kate is a force of nature and a total pleasure to work alongside! With every project we've embarked on, Kate both delivers and demands excellence. Her work ethic is unparalleled. She’s wonderfully direct and authentic in equal measure. I admire the way she navigates being both humble and innovative in a leadership position. She has a sophisticated business acumen that’s perfectly balanced with an open heart and genuine passion for community. I'd welcome any future opportunities.

General Assembly: 10 Startup Founder Blogs That Every Entrepreneur Should Read

CloudPeeps's beta launch on Product Hunt
In early 2014, I submitted CloudPeeps to Product Hunt a few months after we launched. We ended up being the highest ranked startup that day. NB: The site has grown considerably since then and it's not uncommon to see thousands of upvotes on popular PH products now.
Creative Mornings speech and other public speaking
I'm a personable public speaker, keynote and panelist (visible at http://katekendall.com/speaking) and hosted many high-rated workshops directly, and via Skillshare and General Assembly. Here's an example from my Creative Mornings Melbourne talk from late 2012 that was featured on Lifehacker.
Magazine cover story and profile on Google including an interview with Marissa Mayer
I've published a fair bit of business feature writing from my journalism days. This included writing 5000-plus word features on Google, Microsoft, L’Oréal, brand management, marketing education, direct marketing metrics, a monthly column and more.

Industries I love
What I read
I love reading content from Buffer, Crew, First Round Review, Brain Pickings, CMX, Feverbee, Quibb, Product Hunt and The Fetch :). Susan Cain's Quiet: The Power of Introverts, Remote by 37signals and Hooked by Nir Eyal are currently on my Kindle.
Side projects
I built The Fetch to 10 different cities and a reach of 70K professionals. I created one of Melbourne's longest-running meetups, Socialmelb. Now, I'm working on Freelance Friday – a global coworking meetup for independents, creatives and entrepeneurs.
Ideal team
I like lean and ambitious teams who are action-focused. I like keeping communications short and geared towards the goal. I believe trust is one of the most important things between teams, clients and freelancers. Working with reliable folks is a must.
