I started out working in journalism, then transitioned to producing online content. In 2003, I managed community for Tribe.net, one of the first large-scale social networks. Since then, I've continued to do CM, as well as marketing, PR and social media.

What I read
When it comes to fiction, I favor mysteries and hard sci-fi; Lee Child and Robert Parker are guilty pleasures. Favorite non-fiction includes Steven Pressfield's "The War on Art," "Story" by Robert McKee and more recently, "Rise of the Warrior Cop."
Besides making a documentary about how tech is transforming housing/transportation in SF, I'm developing an app with a friend. I'm also in the process of applying for a CA winegrower license.
I like working on small teams and in organizations with relatively flat management structures. I can't say there's a specific corporate culture I like, but I'm always glad to work with people who value communication and the open exchange of ideas.
